Canada Permanent Residence programs can be divided into two categories, i.e. the Federal (express Entry) immigration System and Immigration programs of the provinces (i.e. PNP and QSWP).

The Federal Express Entry System and Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) have separate IELTS requirement.

For example, the Federal Express Entry System need CLB 7 Proficiency level from an applicant. Similarly, all PNPs  programs have their different IELTS requirements, i.e.

  • Federal Express Entry System require CLB 7
  • Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program require CLB 7 for the Express Entry aligned stream
  • Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program need CLB 4 for the OID Stream and CLB 7 for the Express Entry aligned stream
  • Nova Scotia Nominee Program accepts CLB 7 for the Express Entry aligned stream
  • Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program accepts CLB 4 proficiency level needed for applicants with skills and experience in semi-skilled and low-skilled occupations (NOC C and D)
